About the event
Our world is more connected today than it has ever been. The interconnectivity that the internet provides has been life-changing and constantly changes the way we do business. We are now able to work in an almost limitless world – projects, colleagues, and customers are no longer limited by location. Of course, there are exceptions, even in ‘hands on’ work such as manufacturing, production, farming, or transportation to name a few. But even in those businesses, you remain connected to a digital world through machines, machine learning, GPS, production monitoring systems, and other tools that inform our decisions and increase our productivity.
We live in a digital world and with that comes digital risks. These can be difficult to predict and challenging for people to understand as these risks aren’t as obvious as those that we face head-on in the analog world around us. We are now needing to watch for things that we can’t ‘see’ rather than for obstacles that are tangible such as looking for traffic when walking across the street.
Awareness of cybersecurity can help your business manage risks and give you ideas for how to help employees change dangerous behaviors. This presentation will discuss how to identify and avoid tried and true ‘scams’ as well as new social engineering attacks and general human error. Learning how to recognize these events, creating change in organizational behavior, and ensuring you are prepared for the worst are the first steps to digitally protecting your business.
